maybe an obsession??

The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing. But in our culture, we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture.
- Doug Phillips

and do you notice how are families are getting smaller and smaller while our personal and national debt higher and higher while society seems to be going to he%$ in a handbag???

Hey, I think I'll post this on my face book page..........anyone else notice my "obsession" for little sayings and phrases the last few days?? HHHHMMMMM????

Life in the fast lane!

It's amazing sometimes all you can squeeze in a weekend! Jessa had Cotillion Friday night and had a friend sleep over. She had a wonderful time, and I just loved the details and all the fuss of getting ready for a big dance! Kenna and Brynn had soccer games Saturday morning! SERIOUS sports action! We had a great visit with our friends from Cincinnati who came to work the World Equestrian Games which have succesfully turned our little town upside down. The Common Folk to Royalty quotient has apparently never been higher and has caused quit a communication problem! Jeff Foxworthy has been called in to translate! Prince Harry and Phillip are here along with some big Middle Eastern Princesses who bought property and built homes just for the event (gag! - obnoxious display of wealth if I may say!) They stayed the night and Madeline hung out with us while her mom hung with the rich and famous!

We went to a family cookout, a neighborhood tailgate party stayed up late catching up with Pam. Church Sunday, laundry, a little house cleaning, trip to the office, and watched Mike hang Halloween decoration wearing a mullet wig...NICE look for the bald guy!!! I think I should be tierd, but it was all so much stinkin fun..I really just hate to see it end!

If I were smart, I woulda took more pics!!!

Inspiration......and LID!

Some would gather money
Along the path of life,
Some would gather roses,
And rest from worldly strife.

But I would gather children
From among the thorns of sin,
I would seek their twinkling eyes,
And reveal mischievous grins.

For money cannot enter
In that land of endless day,
And roses that are gathered
Soon will wilt along the way.

But oh, the laughing children,
As I cross the sunset sea,
And the gates swing wide to heaven
I can take them in with me!

Some catchin up to do!!!!

I hate long wordy blogs...so I'm going to try my best! Luckily I have lots of 'old' photos I shoulda post weeks/months ago that hopefully yall will forgive my wordy entry! First of all, the fundraiser was a huge success! We had over 260 guests and the generosity was more than we expected! We were so humbled and overjoyed by everyones response...it was a fabulous experience for us!

Unfortunately, Lifesong chose not to give us a matching grant, we were of course very disappointed, but after digesting the news we decided not to let our spirits get down. We were so blessed by the turn out of our fundraiser and by Lifesongs support of a tax deductable account! We will continue to trust in Him in all aspects of this adoption!

A brief update on the kids....the school year is going VERY well! All three seem to be very happy with their teachers and are having an exceptional academic year so far. Jessa feels a bit of the strain and is working extra hard, but is doing just great! She is in another play and practicing 3 days aweek, singing in the church choir and addicted to texting as always! She's her charming unpredictable adolescent self! Kenna and Brynn and both playing soccer, this is their first year. Kenna is really showing some talent, aggressive, quick and really picking up the skills. Brynn is also learing quick but at 6 the cute factor is the primary appeal of watching them play! They are also singing in the chior at church. Sam started preschool and it is going FABULOUSLY! He loves his school, his teacher, and we've had not one single tear of seperation or sign of anxiety about staying! His teacher is truly the "Kid Whisperer"!!

Ok, that's Hope you enjoy the pics!! I think they are all self explanitory except that's the Stacknic families visit from a few weeks back! We always enjoy playing with MaryGrace, Joey, sweet Katherine....another testimony to how the adoption community unites families and creates great friendship...love ya Angie!!! AND! the Harley you see my teenage daughter on is driven by her leather clad grandfather, so pass no judgement please, it's a legit ride :)

IT'S FUNDRAISER DAY!!!

I'm really very excited and a bundle of nerves! When you plan something this big, the "what if's" always set in. What if no one comes? What if I don't have enough? What if I have left over spaghetti sauce for 6 months? Seriously, we made spaghetti sauce for @200 people the other night, there are about 6 GIANT stock pots crammed in my two refrig's! We've been eating out of the pantry all weekend! Thanks so much to my helpers who came and chopped onions and cried with me!!

The generosity is already pouring in...we are up to about 10 raffle and silent auction items - people truly amaze me!

I was getting Will's photos ready to take to the school gym and I really had such an overwhelming sense of love and excitement about him overcome me. We are very lucky to have the means and opportunity to bring him home..and he really is such a cutey. His face just melts my heart!

Please pray for a successful event, and please come if you can!!

Fundraiser for Will!!!!

I'm excited about this one, we've already started working hard to get things together to make it a big success and our friends and family have already been so generous! I can't wait to see how it turns out! In addition to a spaghetti dinner we will be having lot of fun with corn hole, facepainting for the kids a split the pot and raffels that include Woodford Reserve Gift Baskets, Two hand made adirondack chairs, UK basketball tickets and even more! Hopefully it will be a fun night for everyone! Here's a copy of the invitation we've been handing out. Please pray for a successful night!

HERE WE GROW AGAIN!
Join us for a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for
William Zhang Liang DeLuca
When: Sunday, September 12th dinner 5:30-7:30p fun until?
Where: Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Cafeteria
RSVP: leave a comment or COME LAST MINUTE! RSVP HELPFUL BUT NOT NECESSARY!!!

As many of you know, the DeLuca family traveled to China in 08/09, and while there, we met a little boy who had been Sam’s “crib mate”. This sweet boy touched our hearts. Myra worked hard advocating him to find a family, but after nearly a year with little response we realized our feelings had changed. Through a lot of prayer we decided to take the leap of faith and adopt again! We have the love and willingness to open our home to this orphaned child but the staggering fact is an international adoption cost over $20,000! We are counting on God and hard work to get us through. We have already been blessed by an organization named Lifesong who has set up an account for us, so all donations will be tax deductable! Plus, God willing all proceeds made maybe DOUBLED if we are given a matching grant! We would appreciate your support at our fundraiser, but foremost, we ask for prayers for our waiting son and for God to lead Lifesong down the right path. Also, please bring your checkbook so you can take of advantage of the tax deduction! Thanks for your consideration and we hope to see you there

Two adoptions, and I made my first big mistake....

I had a document sent back....I forgot a step...I sent the 800A approval to the courier and I didn't have it correctly notarized/county clerked/state sealed. It was my first mistake EVER! with our adoption paper work and I DID NOT TAKE IT WELL! Now, I am a logical, mature, educated adult. I know how complicated and how many steps there are in this process. Logically, I realized how easily it is for something to get missed, a mistake to get made. But, not me! I give support to others on the yahoo group when it happen to them, not me! Actually, I was so embarrased/upset I didn't even post about it. ILLOGICAL STUBBORN PERFECTIONIST PROUD. yep, I know...but let me tell you when YOU make a mistake that holds up progress, that holds up your baby coming home...it hurts.

Luckily, my logical side DID kick in after a few hours of bitter tears and I just did what had to be done to fix the situation and move on...no need of crying over spilled milk. The reality is, it only set back a week. One week. Yeah, deep down I'm still bitter - after the 7 week wait Will didn't need his mother adding one more.

Oh well!
